π Learn About the Law of Attention
The Law of Attention says you experience more of what you put your attention on. Just like Eric discovered in 2014 during a game of Punch Buggy with his daughter, your subconscious powerfully filters your reality to show you more of whatever you consistently focus on (mainly subconsciously). Then when your subconscious focus is programmed more intentionally (similar to an internet algorithm responding to what you've searched for previously), and debugged of detrimental hangups (which we call bugs in the code), your subconscious then goes out and searches for what you most deeply want now, and your life harmonizes with that new vision. When you take it a level deeper and align it with your God-given Inspiration (your Source of Inspiration), it becomes a powerful co-creative force to bring more joy, opportunities, things, experiences, purpose and impact to your life.
Move past your biggest trigger and have a breakthrough
Most people have one big triggerβthat thing that really becomes emotive. You probably have one too. That thing that makes you jealous, or doesn't feel fairβor isn't fair. Maybe it's a resentment, a deep hurt, someone or something is holding you back or stunted your growth. Something feels like it's immovable and is holding you back from living your best life. If that resonates with you, let's call it out now and shift our attention to a better creative mindset about it and have a breakthrough.

Whenever you feel these feelings and get mad at someone, or yourself, or at God, or the world, or politicians, or your boss, family member, or whoever, you are now going to very consciously choose to hand it to God and trust God can make a way. It will probably feel hard, forced, and unnatural. You may even resist it because this trigger has become so familiar. But you are going to take a radical act of trust that God can move you past it right now, no matter how deep or ingrained it is.

You just took a radical act of faith and trust. God now holds your trigger, and your inner systems are already beginning to reprogram away from this old pattern. Every time this trigger tries to surface, remember this moment and choose to trust God's way instead of your old reactive pattern.

You've cast your cares on God and taken an important intentional action to be faithful. God and your inner systems will respond faithfully as well. Rest in knowing God holds your concerns now, and your inner systems will work on helping identify the best paths forward.
Your RAS is your subconscious biological pattern filtering system that processes 11 million bits per second. To put that in perspective, your conscious awareness only handles 50 bits per second. Which means your reality is shaped far more by your subconscious than your conscious. But the catch is that you can use your conscious to program your subconscious, which can help you notice things, paths, and experiences far more easily than you can do consciously. It is like how once you click a few internet ads they start showing up everywhere, or like happened to Eric with VW Bugs appearing everywhere for a game of punch buggy. Your RAS decides most of what you see and notice, which greatly influences your life experience. Therefore, learning how to train it to notice what matters most to you is one of the smartest things you can ever do.

π Eric's Original Story
Eric discovered the Law of Attention during a game of Punch Buggy with his daughter, when his RAS (explained in the book) was unconsciously trained to start noticing VW Bugs. That led Eric to lean on his background in theology and software code to understand how this happened, and then realized how much bigger this discovery was than he first thought. He realized the focus of his attention had a huge impact on his inner and outer life experiences.
Below in this exercise, you can play your own version of Punch Buggy. State what you want to notice more of. It can be anything. Then when you see it, make the conscious act of coming back here to log it. This will tell your RAS to show you more of it, and soon it will get set into your much more powerful subconscious. Then it will automatically show up much more often, with little to no additional effort, just like those VW Bugs did for Eric.
